2010 17th ANNUAL SAN DIEGO LATINO FILM FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES PREMIO CORAZON AWARD WINNERS
SAN DIEGO, CA-MEDIA ARTS Center San Diego’s 17th Annual San Diego Latino Film Festival ended this past Sunday with a record attendance of 19,400. Opening with telenovela star Jaime Camil, screening 185 films from throughout the World, hosting over 75 special guests, and ending with acclaimed film & television star Benjamin Bratt, the 2010 edition of the San Diego Latino Film Festival reached new heights this year.
The 17th Annual San Diego Latino Film Festival is proud to announce the following PREMIO CORAZON Award winners:
** CINE LATINO Best Narrative Feature Audience Award winner: "El Estudiante" ** CINE LATINO Best Documentary Feature Audience Award winner: "Sons of Cuba" ** SAN DIEGO UNION TRIBUNE Best Narrative Feature: "Cuestion de Principios" ** VIBRA BANK Best Documentary Feature: "Mi Vida con Carlos"
**Best Narrative Short: "Di Me Que Yo Best" ** Documentary Short: "Ebony Goddess: Queen of Ile Aiye" ** Best Animated Short: "La Dama y La Muerte" **NATIONAL UNIVERSITY Best Student Film: "El Paraiso de Lili" **Best Youth Film: "Danilo Goes to Joshua Tree" **SanDiego.com Best Local Film: "Medellin, Como Te Convierto En Un Objeto?" **Best Animated Feature: "Nikte" **Best Experimental Film: "Notes on the Other"
Jury members for this year’s film festival included: Issa Lopez, Fernando Rovzar, Simon Brand, Claudio Dabed, Calixto Chinchilla, Evangeline Griego, Raymond Telles, Carlos Sandoval, and Mario Diaz. This year’s Premio Corazon Award was designed by local artist, Lizet Benrey.
