COMMUNITY VIDEOGRAPHERS RESOURCE PAGE
The People's Post encourages citizen journalism. MEDIA ARTS CENTER SAN DIEGO accepts videos from the San Diego County community for inclusion in this project. Here you can find out more about the program, monthly networking opportunities and other useful information.
PROJECT OVERVIEW: THE PEOPLE'S POST
Working with the Knight Foundation, the San Diego Foundation, and voiceofsandiego.org, the San Diego County Library, the MEDIA ARTS CENTER SAN DIEGO is exploring a new direction of newsgathering using the latest technology while engaging the diverse community throughout San Diego County.
Using the platform of our current Digital Story Station projects, community videographers are creating 2-3 minute videos documenting an individual’s personal experience relating to a community issue or general stories of interest to the San Diego region. From education and housing to science and politics, the topics of the videos we are creating offer an interesting insight into specific issues on a more personal level.
This program is a celebration of the people, places, things and other topics that make San Diego unique. Our goal is to present comprehensive reporting and coverage of civic life in San Diego, while mixing civic engagement, self-expression, knowledge sharing, and inclusion and understanding of diverse perspectives.
Watch Video Examples
We are looking for videos that present what is happening in San Diego through the voice of the people who live here. Here are a few examples from our previous programs that highlight the personal stories of certain San Diegans.
