2009 Celebration of Spanish Cinema
"HECHO EN ESPANA"
Co-sponsored by: The Spanish Film Institute (ICAA)
Spain has been a leader in the cinema industry since the first image was burned into a reel. Spain has been so ahead of the game in the art of cinema, that many of the masters of the craft have called Spain their home. For example Luis Bunuel, Segundo de Chomon, Luis Garcia Berlanga, Alejandro Amenabar, and Pedro Almodovar have all been credited to have their hand in making Spain one of the most respected countries in the cinema world. This year, the San Diego Latino Film Festival celebrates the films of Spain in the Hecho en España Showcase.
In addition to the Feature Films listed at right, don't miss the many short films that are being screened from Spain this year!
