The Media Art Center San Diego’s Teen Producers Project is proud to present YOUTH VISIONS, SDLFF’s youth media program that spotlights youth-produced documentary and experimental shorts from across the country.  These short films written, directed, and produced by youth from New York, Los Angeles, San Antonio, and San Diego, explore an array of compelling and diverse issues.

MUERTITOS

Young filmmakers explore the history, meaning, and traditions of Dia de los Muertos and how it is celebrated in San Antonio, Texas.

STILL STANDING

This film is an intimate portrayal of the challenges one woman faces as she attempts to rebuild her life in New Orleans six months after hurricane Katrina. Still Standing puts a human face to the stories of corruption and incompetence that jeopardize the lives and well-being of Katrina survivors.

PATY, ME QUIERO CASAR CONTIGO

Eighteen years ago, a man from Vietnam began writing letters to a woman in Mexico. Their daughter explores her parent’s courtship and how they came together to form a lasting relationship.

PODER ESCONDIDO

Carmen Miranda and Consuelo Martinez are two Latina women who are making a difference in the city of Escondido by empowering the community.  They share the common vision that if people want change, they need get involved.  This video explores the struggles they faced during their lives and what led them to become leaders in their community.
