African American Community

The Media Arts Center San Diego’s Teen Producers Project and The Advanced Placement Consortium Project in partnership with The San Diego County Office of Education (LRET Division) and Migrant Education (Region IX) are proud to present:

“Advanced Placement: Accelerating African American Academic Achievement”

This video is dedicated to all current and future students who take up the challenge of AP courses and promise to return to strengthen our communities.

This video presents candid interviews of African American high school students who are enrolled in advanced placement courses. Students share their experiences and encourage potential AP students. Their parents, teachers, counselors and administrators, give key insights about the realities and academic benefits of advancing early along a college pathway by successfully completing AP classes and exams.

The students in this video highly recommend AP courses for those students who intend to continue onto college because, "They will gain a college experience here at the high school level."

Comunidad Latina

The Media Arts Center San Diego’s Teen Producers Project and The Advanced Placement Consortium Project in partnership with The San Diego County Office of Education (LRET Division) and Migrant Education (Region IX) se enorgullecen en presentar:

"I feel that Advanced Placement has influenced my life because it has opened my eyes to opportunities and opened doors that I didn't think were possible. And it's also allowed me to see that when I really try, I can accomplish more then I ever thought."

"To be successful in AP classes, let go of your fear. The teachers are there to help with any question you might have. I recommend students to take advanced placement classes, because there's so much to learn that's outside of the books. The teachers helped to open our eyes and our minds."
