In 2006, the Teen Producers Project created a documentary focusing on Advanced Placement education and the A-G requirements at high schools.
Over the course of a year Orange Glen High School students created two 10-minute documentaries:
"El Programa de Colocación Avanzada: Lo Mejor Para Nuestros Estudiantes"
"The A-G Requirements"
The course was split-up into two semesters; one semester teaching the importance of Advanced Placement for Latino students, and the other which went over the A-G education requirements that are required to attend most Californian Colleges & Universities.
Through the production process, the Teen Producers Project students learned about the importance of Advanced Placement courses which taught them studying and time management skills, as well as preparing them for the difficult workload of college life. Students learned about the different classes that are within the A-G requirements as well as the understanding that universities will not even consider an applicant if they had not completed the A-G requirements.
Due to the overwhelming success of the 2006 documentaries; the Teen Producers Project revisited this subject in 2008 to produce two documentaries that focused on the importance of Advanced Placement and the A-G Requirements in the African American community.
