Jodi Cilley

Jodi Cilley has been with MACSD as a Media Instructor since May 2005 where she worked with youth to produce more documentaries such as Barrio Logan: Community Stories, Barrio Logan: Voices of Change, Refugee Voices II, and Altared Lives.   Altared Lives was premiered at the prestigious San Francisco Gay & Lesbian Film Festival in 2006.  In addition she is a Program Supervisor for Toussaint Academy of Arts and Sciences where she works with staff to provide programming for homeless youth including a Summer enrichment class about media production that developed an 8-minute video on teen homelessness. Jodi is pursuing her MBA at San Diego State University, holds a Certificate in Video and Film and Media Production from San Diego City College and a BS in Sociology and Women’s Studies from Boston College.

Ismael Tirado

My name is Ismael Tirado and I am 23 years old. I was born in Calexico, CA and raised in a small agricultural town called Heber, CA. My parents migrated to the United States from Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco as a result of the Bracero Program. My mother worked in the fields of the Imperial Valley and raised four boys on her own. Now, my two older brothers have graduated from San Diego State University and my younger brother and I are currently enrolled at SDSU. I am a senior and double majoring in Chicana/o Studies and Television, Film, and New Media Productions. I am also employed at KPBS San Diego as Studio Crew where I assist in every aspect of television production. I have many great mentors who have gone out of their way to teach me about production and I wish to pass my knowledge down to future generations.

Kate Trumbull

Kate Trumbull joined Media Arts Center San Diego (MACSD) earlier this year. As the Community Outreach Coordinator for the 2006 San Diego Latino Film Festival, she organized several successful filmmaker workshops and all of our student screenings. Once the festival wrapped, we were fortunate to bring her aboard as our Education Coordinator, where she oversees development of all our ongoing education programs and services. In a short time with us, she has put her mark on our nonprofit work with the creation of both our Digital Story Station at the central San Diego Public Library as well as the current Teen Producers Project Summer Institute at Barrio Logan College Institute. Kate Trumbull grew up in San Diego and moved east to attend New York University (NYU). She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in "History, Memory, Media & the Arts" from NYU's Gallatin School of Individualized Study. After graduating, Kate went on to work in both the fields of video production and education. She has worked as a freelance video editor, cameraperson, assistant director and instructor for a variety of independent projects, music videos, and documentaries in New York, Mexico City, and San Diego. Kate also worked as an instructor for several after-school arts programs with students ranging from the ages of 5-18. Kate returned to San Diego to pursue her interest in education, video, and alternative media.
