Obtaining a visa in Bolivia is no easy task though, and in order to achieve his goals Mario will be forced to bend the rules nearly to the breaking point. Mario's diligent efforts to escape to the U.S. are soon complicated, however, when a beautiful young dancer named Blanca (Kate del Castillo) voices a desire to quit her job at a seedy strip club and settle down with the desperate dad in Bolivia.

STUDENT  SPOTLIGHT

Ruth Chamu
Teen Producer

Ruth is part of the Teen Producers Projects made possible by Media Arts Center San Diego.  The film she helped to produce is called A-G Requirements - Pathways to College.  It is about the standards students must complete in order to go on to college.  Ruth enjoys shooting footage and editing film.

COUNTDOWN ARTIST SPOTLIGHT

ANA DE LA REGUERA

Ana screened the film Ladies Night with audiences at the 2006 San Diego Latino Film Festival.  Recently seen in the Jack Black comedy Nacho Libre, she showcases the depth of her dramatic talents in this month's COUNTDOWN TO 15 Screening of ASI DEL PRECIPICIO.

With beautiful eyes and a great talent Ana de la Reguera is one of the most prominent actresses in Mexico. Her beauty and quality as actress made Ana one of the best young talents in her country. Ana began her career with many TV series, but she is focusing her work in movies. De la Reguera has some other talents, for example she is an excellent professional dancer. Her work in movies includes: Por la libre , Un Secreto de Esperanza,  andLadies' Night.  In Un Secreto de Esperanza, De la Reguera shares credits with Oscar winner Mexican actress, Katy Jurado.

We expect to see more great things come from this rising international star as she has just completed filming on A Happy Death, Paraiso Travel, and Sultanes del Sur; all expected to be on the big screen in 2008!
